When to come;
Summer in the Bavarian mountains is warmer and drier than the UK allowing everyone plenty of opportunity for outdoor activities. So it’s no shock that the locals are invariably very fit, active and healthy people! A cosmopolitan atmosphere of pavement cafes and alfresco dining creates a chilled out environment, perfect for unwinding after a day of action packed adventures

Winter is colder and drier, with plenty of snow for that idyllic winter holiday. Even if you are not a skier there is plenty to see and do. The famous Christmas markets, with their sparkling lights and Glühwein stalls, start in November and with many other traditional events held in villages throughout the Allgäu region, it is the perfect place for a relaxing, uncommercialised Christmas break. They see in the New Year with some style too, with a variety of Winter sports to watch, such as Ski jumping and Ice skating competitions in nearby Oberstdorf.
